A Blessing for Motorcyclists

I wrote this poem today and thought I would put it on my Blog

A Blessing for Motorcyclists.

May your trails be fun filled

May your track days be fast

May your group rides be filled with friends

May your Club rides have a good turn out

May your touring rides be filled with adventure

May your Charity rides raise money

May your mountain, canyon, valley rides be filled
with sweepers and twisties

May your ride to work be safe

May your days in the saddle be filled with safety

May you always accept all motorcyclists no matter
what bike they ride.

Ft Myers Bike Night 4-22-06

Saturday April 22, was Ft Myers Bike Night. I spent the day washing my bike, both of our cars and my mother in-law's car. I got the V-Star all shined up and took off down the road. This time I took my video camera. It was 91 degrees during the day and by 6:30pm it was still in the mid 80's. I was wear long pants, a white t-shirt and my leather vest with patches on it.

Riding down Mc Gregor Blvd I took some video of me riding behind some other bikers. Then once I got to downtown Ft Myers I was amazed with the amount of motorcycles and people there. I had to ride for a couple of blocks just to find a parking place in the closed section of downtown Ft Myers.

I video taped others coming in and all the motorcycles around the place. I video taped the different Rock Bands that were preforming. I also took video of different people around the place. I met some very interesting people there. I took video of a little 3 or 4 year old girl on an electic motorcycle riding around. Her daddy was very proud of his daughter. He said he left his Harley at home and brought his wife and daughter instead. You could tell he was a very nice and happy person. I also met a lady whose husband was awarded the Medal of Honor while in the Marines back in WW II. They named a VA Home after him and she just found out that the US Navy is going to name a ship after him. His last name is Jacobson. I also met people and we talked about what Church we go to and so forth. I even talked to a guy who just moved down here and looking for work, he is a truck driver. I got his name and phone number and told a guy in Church today who owns a trucking company. He is going to contact him because he has a truck just sitting there needing a driver.

The ride back home was great. It was cooler and I needed the cool air from riding. I wanted to ride futher but I told Kandi that I would probably be home around 10 or so and it was 10:45. So I came home in a good mood and then turned on the news. On WINK TV 11 CBS down here showed me coming into Bike Night on my Bike. So I made the local news, again!
