Ft Myers Bike Night

Danny McNerlin and I went to the Ft Myers Bike Night on Saturday November 19. This was in downtown Ft Myers down by the River. There were many different motorcycles there. I would say over 5,000 bikes were there. Different motorcycle dealerships had bikes there to show for sell. There were vendors there of motorcycle products. There were also beer and food vendors there along with 2 bands playing Classic Rock music.
After we left Downtown, Danny and I road down to Ft Myers Beach, which was about a 25 minute ride. Down on Ft Myers Beach on Estero Blvd there was hardly anyone on the streets at 9:30 pm! So we pulled into the parking lot of the Lani Kai and turned around and we all headed home. I bid Danny farewell as we came off the Mantanzas Pass Bridge and onto San Carlos Island and San Carlos Blvd. Danny turned right onto Main Street to head down to his home down by the Shrimp Boat Fleet. I stayed on San Carlos for another 5 miles to turn left onto Mc Gregor Blvd towards Sanibel and then right onto Thorton Road and left onto Live Oak Drive and home.
It was a great night for riding and a great night for just relaxing in 78 degree weather in the middle of November

Riding in the Fall

In October I went out for a ride through Huntingdon County Penna. This was a vrey cool ride. The fall colors were just starting to come out. The less humid cool air was about us. I left Cassville and rode down to Shade Gap. I then rode my bike down Shade Valley through all the twisty roads down there. Most of the ride in Shade Valley I couldn't get my bike up to 35 or 40 mph because of all the turns.

I then loaded up the bike onto my trailer and we all headed south with the rest of the snow birds. We spent our first night in South Carolina and woke up to hear that Hurricane Wilma was formed at a Cat 5 hurricane. We pulled off at Kingsland/St Marys Ga to ride out the storm. We started our stay on a Wednesday evening and waited until the hurricane struck Southwest Florida on Monday. We left on Tuesday. When we arove down in Ft Myers it was 0 dark 30. The house was intacked so we were lucky.

After a week down here in Ft Myers, I took the bike into Sun Sports to have the 8,000 mile check up done. The next evening I took Jordan for a ride from "Grammy's trailer on San Carlos Island to Estero Island/Ft Myers Beach. We took this ride in the evening while Kandi, Cora and the rest played cards. Jordan and I took the ride through Ft Myers Beach and onto Lovers Key and Bonita Springs. We came across others who were taking the evening ride. It was up in the upper 80's to low 90's during the day and down to mid 70's that evening. A perfect night to ride and what I nice ride it was. Seeing all the lights of Ft Myers Beach lit up and all the cars and bikes going cruising on Estero Blvd.
