Escorting Santa
This past Saturday the SouthWest Florida Harley Owners Group (HOG) Chapter had a ride in the morning from the North Ft Myers Perkins Restaurant to the FT Myers Harley-Davidson Dealership to escort Santa! For the first time my youngest son, Morgan age 9, went on a ride with a group of motorcyclist. He thought it was very fun. We arove over on North Ft Myers just as the group was pulling out at 9am. When we got to the bridge over the river heading into downtown Ft Myers it started to rain. The rain didn't dampen anyone's spirit. Most of us turn on FM 106.3 on our radios because that station was playing 24 - 7 Christmas music. Santa was behind all of us in a convertable. The Lee County Sheriff's Department excorted us and blocked intersections as we rode through. Morgan thought it was so COOL to have all those Harleys and Law Enforcement Officers around. People lined Rt 41 and waved to us as we rode by. It was a great ride even though it did rain but who cares?
Once at the dealership we took a group picture of those who rode that day. Then once inside the dealership there were bagels for everyone to eat along with coffee and soda, all for free! Then the kids could get their photograph taken with Santa on a nice red BIG DOG Chopper! I took Morgan's picture and then went back and brought Jordan along so he could also get his picture taken.
